Dan's out of surgery! It is 6:26 PM, and Dan's surgeon, Dr. Tufano, just came out to meet with us and give us a rundown of the day. He said that many of the risks and complications that could have arisen were averted. This is great news. All nerves and muscles are intact, no thoracic duct laceration, no significant blood loss or vessel involvement. Dr. Tufano said his smile is symmetrical, tongue function is normal and Horner's syndrome was avoided. I'll go in and see him in a few, but he is awake and recovering!
